Programming

Overview

Programming Schedule On-Line

Welcome to the Cascadia Con program division web site. This site will provide information to convention members, program participants, program team volunteers, and other interested parties.

Science fiction fandom is the community of the literature of ideas. Conventions are gatherings of the community to share experiences, and the convention program is the most important aspect of the convention experience. As a continental convention organized under the auspices of the World Science Fiction Society, Cascadia Con will have a strong tradition of literary and science programming in the Worldcon tradition. And also in the tradition of Pacific Northwest conventions, we plan to have a lot of fun, with activity and special interest programming to reflect the diverse range of interests that are integral to or closely associated with science fiction fandom. These include media, art, anime, fandom (conrunning, fanzines, fan history, and clubs), writing, costuming, gaming, filking, and more. We will also have children's programming and an educator's mini-conference on the first day of the convention (along with other education-oriented program items throughout the con).

While we will be inviting a range of presenters and panelists, ultimately the convention belongs to the members. If you have ideas, recommendations, contacts, or if you wish to volunteer to help, please contact us.
