Apartment 206

Film Description

Two fatal victims of a traffic accident wake up in an ominous apartment surrounded by darkness. Their only contact with the living world is through old televisions that broadcast the one thing they cherish back on earth. They "plug in" to their past lives and attempt to manipulate them. Over time, they realize the things that hold them back can only be delt with when they confront the black void outside.

Director's Statement

APARTMENT 206 is a ghost story from the point of view of the ghosts.Visualizing their metaphysical limbo, how they connect to the living and why they're afraid to move on—was the main inspiration for making the film. The concept also provided a good chance to create a dramatic situation in a confined arena. I chose to explore the mother/son dynamic because the bond between mother and son is strong and universally understood. Both Sandra and Conrad come from dysfunctional mother/son relationships. In limbo they become each other's surrogate mother/son. Through comforting each other, they create a bond that they never had with their own mother/son in life.
